Little Learners Language Enrichment Classes

Our 30-minute Language Enrichment Classes are play-based group experiences designed to help young children develop strong communication skills in a fun, engaging, and supportive environment. Led by a licensed speech therapist, each class is thoughtfully planned to support language development through meaningful, interactive experiences. Classes are organized by age to ensure activities are developmentally appropriate.

Little Learners

Little Learners (18 Months–3 Years)

The first three years of life are a critical time for language development. This class focuses on building foundational communication skills through songs, music and movement, baby sign language, shared book reading, sensory play, gross motor activities, pretend play, and play-based routines.

Children will have opportunities to develop:

  • Early vocabulary and word combinations
  • Joint attention and shared engagement
  • Gestures and baby sign language to support communication
  • Imitation of sounds, actions, and words
  • Understanding and following simple one-step directions
  • Turn-taking and early social interaction
  • Requesting, commenting, and making choices
  • Listening skills through songs, rhymes, and stories
  • Early literacy skills through interactive books and nursery rhymes
  • Confidence communicating with caregivers and peers

Parents participate alongside their child and leave each class with practical strategies they can use during everyday routines to encourage communication at home.

Growing Communicators (Pre-k 3–5 Years)

This class is designed to strengthen the language, literacy, and social communication skills children need for preschool and kindergarten success. Each 30-minute session incorporates songs, movement, sign language, literacy-based activities, sensory play, gross motor games, storytelling, hands-on learning, and imaginative play to make learning fun and engaging.

Children will have opportunities to develop:

  • Vocabulary expansion and word knowledge
  • Sentence structure and grammar
  • Listening comprehension
  • Following one-, two-, and multi-step directions
  • Asking and answering "who," "what," "where," "when," and "why" questions
  • Storytelling and early narrative skills
  • Conversation skills, turn-taking, and peer interaction
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking through play
  • Early phonological and phonemic awareness skills, including rhyming, syllable awareness, beginning sounds, and sound play
  • Letter knowledge and print awareness through interactive literacy activities
  • Early sequencing and retelling skills

Our small class sizes provide individualized support while giving children meaningful opportunities to learn alongside their peers in a warm, encouraging environment where communication grows naturally through play.
